Since the title of this blog is what it is, I should explain my definition of the difference between music and crap.
Music genres in themselves are not artistic nor relevant to to the merits of the music. They exist as guides for people to find music similar to music they already like and for journalists to describe in shorter sentences. There are music genres which I do not like that does not make songs in them crap, just not my taste. Though on certain genres that can be debated too.
Music that is good could be #1 on a chart or never appear on a chart. Crap can also be #1 on any chart or never appear on a chart. Good music can have 3 chords or full orchestra accompaniment. It could come from an independent label or a major label. "Art is where you find it."
